{love you to moon & back}

surprise, surprise, i've been slacking!

my sister came and it was such a good visit. the kids were in heaven with her here (so was i!). we got to go to the zoo!... i hated to see her go! especially without having a next trip planned.
justin had a week of vacation last week-it was awesome! originally we had planned to go back to flagstaff, but apparently they didn't have good/much snow. so we opted to just hang out and take it easy. i did a garage sale with a few friends who live in the neighborhood and we had some people over for the super bowl. super fun! justin finally broke down and got his firepit-talk about a happy guy! so that's been fun :) justin's parents came to visit for a couple nights-allowing justin and i to go on a sushi date! actually, it was a hibachi grill and we made a few new friends-a young couple who just moved here from colorado-we went to their house and my kids (mainly ian!) fell in love with the girl {kaylah}. so cute! yay for new friends!

i was talking to my parents and we decided that i need to go to a spy store of some sort so i can get some contraption that allows me to push the "record" button at any moment. (something that won't make my little people stop what they are doing when i get out my camera) my kids are growing too fast and saying too many funny things. if you know me at all, you know that i pretty much always have my camera on me for that very reason. i want to capture/remember as much as i can!

ian. well ian is the best.
his sentences are flawless (mostly). he (mostly) knows his tenses. he says the funniest things.
-the other night justin was taking him to bed and i told him i loved him-he said "love you to moon and back"
-tonight i laid him down-said our prayers, told him a story, sang his 3 songs (he is a victim of habit...i'm not allowed to change this up at all) ;) then i always tell him "i love you forever, i'll like you for always, as long as i'm living, my baby you'll be", "i love you to the moon and back" and "sweet dreams". he told me all of those things before i left the room (he was stalling and didn't want me to leave b/c he knew i thought it would be cute). i love him so much!
-i say "it sure is" (or things like that) a lot of the time (example: i give ian lunch. ian says "these nuggets are really hot", i say "they sure are"), so now i catch him saying that randomly.
-he said "my goodness" the other day.....
-he's obessed with puzzles now and can put them together with ease. he's silly about it, too. if we are working on a thomas the train puzzle and james (the train)'s face needs to be put on next, he'll put the wrong piece there on purpose, then get this silly look on his face-look up and say "that piece doesn't go theeeeeeere" (in kind of a teasing way). goob.
-he has become too stubborn to go to the potty anymore (big sigh). he fights it so much. nothing excites him about it. he's over the money in the bank thing, the tatoos, the potty folder. still trying to see what will work. wish us luck! (we were doing so well! ugh!)
-to go with the above stated. he doesn't want to wear diapers, only pullups. {quick side story to deal with the pullups....he knows which side goes in the front and what goes in the back. he'll say "dat side go on my hiney and dat side go on my dingding" pretty dang cute if you ask me!} but all day yesterday-any time he had a wet pullup, he'd tell me, take it off, then put a new one on. COME ON, KID!!!! patience.
-ian now has best friends. his toys. mainly lightening mcqueen. his little car was missing for awhile, but then i found it under ceci's dresser. when i showed him, he took lightening-got mater and big mac, then told me "my have all my best friends". he was so genuinely happy. so cute.
-his stuffed animals. he has a ton he goes to sleep with. they come with him when he leaves his bed. his duck. his little baby turtle. his snow leopard. his simba. (and there are more, but he's the type of kid who phases in and out of things after a week or more-but these guys have been "it" for more than that!). he's so sweet with them. he'll hug them tight, look at me and say. "i love them, i love my friends"

{skip ahead to the next day-ian woke up while i was writing this and was awake for a couple hours, and then his sister decided to join the party, too....long night and justin ended up calling in...}

cecilia is hilarious....
-she now shows us her teeth and crinkles up her little nose to show off her teeth. so cute!
-when i give her something and then say "what do you say?" she knows to say "thank you"
-she has so much personality and doesn't take much crap from her brother. she'll fight for what she wants!
-she is now 100% weaned and has immediately become a daddy's girl. immediately! it's so cute, so i can't even act like i'm upset by it! just seeing her loving on him is the sweetest thing. my favorite is probably how excited she gets when he gets home from work. she squeals and screams and says over and over (and over) "hi dada hi dada"....a-dorable! {justin doesn't mind this too much after 14 months of her soley needing/wanting me :)}
-ceci is quite the dancer. she dances and sings. her new favorite is 'ring around the rosey' after we sing "all fall down" she yells "down!" then laughs/squeals and nods repeatedly to let me know she wants to do it again.
-she knows what a cow, cat, dog, fish, elephant, duck, and dinosaur says. and an airplane. she sees airplanes and says "airpane", and she saw justin holding a helicopter toy this morning and said "hacoca" {don't tell ian, but i'm pretty sure she says it better than him!....not many things we can say that's true about!} she knows her hair, her toes, belly button, nose, mouth, ears, hands. colors are next on my agenda!
-she has become a much better eater. and she can use a fork with the best of them! and a spoon. i've been giving her yogurt in the mornings (which she LOVES) and she manages to get out 95% of the yogurt out. now, of that 95%, about 80% of that makes it into her mouth, but STILL! she's only 14 months old!

i hate how scattered i get while i'm writing these things. shame on me. maybe if i quit slacking and do it more often, i won't have to try to 'make up' for so much lost time! note to self: stop procrastinating on the blog (i'll add that to my list of: cleaning, baby books, printing pictures, finsh getting our house together, etc....)

anyways, happy friday! here it is a gloomy, rainy and cold friday. the type of day that i want to snuggle up on the couch w/ some hot chocolate and watch chick flicks all day. i will settle for wiping noses, butts, getting hugs, building puzzles, getting snacks, making dinner, and playing with my adorable family. wait, on second thought-this sounds much better :)
